Two workers test Covid-19 positive at Rivers Casino

Two employees have tested positive for Covid-19 at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, two weeks after the casino’s reopening.

US.- Two workers have tested positive for the novel coronavirus at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh since the venue reopened after lockdown on June 9.

The case was reported on June 17, a week after the casino reopened. The venue had been closed for nearly 90 days due to the lockdown of non-essential businesses. The second case is an employee that has not been working since June 13, but coworkers and guests who were in contact with him will be notified by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Rivers spokesman Jack Horner said: “This team member has not been on property for the past seven days and last worked on June 13. Thanks to new health and safety protocols, this individual self-identified symptoms, got tested and sought treatment, without ever returning to the casino.”

Customers arriving at the casino will now have their temperature taken on arrival and will not be allowed to enter if they have a fever.

According to a spokeperson, employees have undergone routine temperatures checks since reopening. Both staff and guests are required to wear face masks, practice social distancing and regularly wash their hands.

Plexiglass dividers have been added between popular machines. Game tables like Blackjack and roulette are only permitted with limited players.
