Pennsylvania’s Rivers and Meadows casinos to reopen
Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and Meadows in Washington will reopen on June 9 after being closed since mid-March due to the pandemic.
US.- Rivers Casino Pittsburg and The Meadows Racetrack, Washington are the first casinos in Pennsylvania to announce reopening dates following the Covid-19 lockdown. Both casinos have announced they will open their doors on june 9.
Rivers Casino will reopen at 9am and the Meadows at 12 noon. Rivers Casino, which has been closed since March 15, has confirmed it will operate with limited capacity.
Following social distancing measures, the restaurant and gaming floor will run at 50 per cent capacity. This will be checked using a customer counter at the entrance.
Bill Keena, general manager of Rivers Casino, said: “The safety and well-being of our Team Members, our guests and the community are our top priority. We’re eager to welcome our friends and neighbors back to Rivers.”
Rivers Casino will have new opening times, open weekdays 9am to 4am. and around-the-clock on weekends from 9am Friday to 4am Monday. The property will be sanitised during hours it is closed.
Face masks will be required for all guests and employees during opening hours.
According to the vice president and general manager of the casino, Tony Frabbiele, the company has been working closely with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, state and local leaders, and public health officials “to finalise comprehensive reopening protocols and new health and safety precautions.”
The Meadows in Washington meanwhile announced its reopening on social media and said that details on distancing measures and protocols would follow shortly.
