New Hampshire budget foresees mobile wagering
Gov. Chris Sununu introduced the state budget with legalised sports betting, which would generate up to US$10 million additional revenue a year.
US.- Sports betting continues to expand in the US and New Hampshire may soon jump into the action. Governor Chris Sununu filed the proposed budget for the state, which would legalise it and bring US$10 million a year in additional revenue.
The proposed legislation also involves a House Bill that would regulate the segment. It would grant the New Hampshire Lottery Commission the power to conduct a bidding process to select from a number of companies to provide sports betting locations in the state.
Wherever the segment may land, it should first have locally approved the activity, as with electronic bingo game keno. Furthermore, it involves the online and mobile segment, allowing players to place wagers using the internet either through a computer or any mobile device within the state.
The piece of legislation would also establish and fund a Council for Responsible Gaming to support education and treatment of problem gambling.
Back in 2017, the state also legalised daily fantasy sports, which will add to sports betting to create a wide gambling offer in New Hampshire.
