US.- Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) is plowing through in the United States and have been legalised in a 13th state. Last Tuesday, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu signed a bill into law that finally makes DFS legal in the state and regulates the successfull market.
House bill 580 had made it through both houses of the legislature in June, as lawmakers approved giving the New Hampshire Lottery Commission the responsibility for drafting and implementing regulations for DFS and the monitoring the enforcement of operators, Gambling Insider reported.
Operators must now register with the commission and are allowed to operate in the state while the law takes effect as long as they submit registration documents. The law doesn’t impose any fee or tax rate for registered operators, in difference to an earlier version that did so.
It also foresees consumer protection measures such as a ban on operator employees participating in the activity, segregation of player funds from a DFS companies operational funds, responsible gaming protocols and the introduction of a minimum age requirement of 18 for all players.
