Montana Lottery accepts sports betting applications
The lottery from the state of Montana started accepting sports betting applications on Monday.
US.- The Montana Lottery has revealed that it started taking applications from interested parties that want to offer sports betting in the state. Last month, the state regulator approved the rules to start offering sports betting.
The Montana Lottery Commission approved on November 21 the rules for betting on the outcome of college and professional sports. As part of that approval, it also authorised rules for Sports Bet Montana, its new sports wagering product. The new rules also have a self-exclusion program included and personal deposit, spending and time limits.
After the interested businesses obtain their respective licences, the lottery will begin statewide training. It will then place new Sports Bet Montana equipment at authorised and licensed locations. As per state regulations, bets can only be placed through one of the Sports Bet Montana terminals inside a licensed location, either there or through the mobile app.
Montana became earlier this year the seventh state in the US to legalise sports betting after the US Supreme Court lifted the federal ban in May 2018. Representative Ryan Lynch, the sponsor of the bill, said that the goal was to kick off sports betting by the launch of the NFL season.
