Hans Martin Nakkim replaces Aron Egfors as chief executive of Sweden’s largest privately run land-based gaming operator.

Sweden.- Cherry Spelglädje has named Hans Martin Nakkim to replace Aron Egfors as CEO as it plans to expand its market share in current verticals and enter new ones. Egfors, who was CEO for six years, will remain with the company and will be involved in business operations.

Nakkim said: “I am grateful to work with such a well-known brand and strong team. I look forward to exploring new business opportunities and investments in the gaming sector for Cherry Spelglädje.”

Now owned by EE Intressenter, Cherry Spelglädje is Sweden’s largest commercial land-based gaming operator, running restaurant casinos. Formerly a subsidiary of Cherry Group, its igaming division was rebranded as ComeOn following its acquisition by private equity group Bridgepoint in 2019.

Total gambling revenue in Sweden reached SEK6.51bn (€637.8m) for the three months ending June 30, an increase of 10.2 per cent year-on-year and 4.8 per cent against the previous quarter.
