Casino tycoon donates $75m to pro-Trump PAC

Sheldon Adelson has made the donation after his Las Vegas Review-Journal openly endorsed Trump for reelection.

US.- Casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson and his wife have donated $75m to the pro-Trump Preserve America Political Action Committee.

According to new filings, the donation was delivered in multiple instalments in August and September and accounted for around $9 out of $10 that Preserve America PAC raised.

Adelson, CEO of Las Vegas Sands, was reportedly criticised by Trump for his lack of support during the campaign.

But last month the Adelson-owned Las Vegas Review-Journal published an article openly endorsing Trump.

Trump is falling short on cash in comparison to his opponent Joe Biden who has collected $383m in September.

Both Trump and Biden have been competing for votes within the casino industry.

While Trump has appealed to voters through his business-first approach to the pandemic and his attempt to impede the expansion of online gambling, Biden’s has assured the Culinary Union he would not impose any unnecessary restrictions.
