The amount wagered on sports was nearly $12m, with 75 per cent of that wagered on mobile apps.

US.- Arkansas‘s sports betting handle was $12m in June, setting a new monthly record for the state. Bets averaged $400,000 a day. Of the total, more than 75 per cent was wagered on mobile apps.

Scott Hardin, a spokesperson for the Department of Finance and Administration, said in a statement: “We assumed the state would see record amounts wagered on sports with the introduction of the mobile option. When football season arrives, it will be surprising if we don’t see this record broken.”

Arkansas online mobile sports betting went live in the state on March 5. Southland Casino in West Memphis was the first venue to launch its regulated online sportsbook, Betly with Gaming1.

After a delay of a couple of months, Saracen Casino Resort in Arkansas launched its mobile sports betting app in May. BetSaracen is the second platform in Arkansas to accept mobile wagers. Saracen, which is located in Pine Bluff and is owned by the Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma, partnered with Amelco UK to develop its betting platform.
