Wildwood Casino starts expansion

Cripple Creek’s Wildwood Casino has started the construction of its upcoming hotel.

US.- The Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek has officially started the construction of the hotel that will be located adjacent to the casino. The facility celebrated the groundbreaking last week by hosting a party for the guests, city officials and employees.

Joseph Canfora, Wildwood’s owner, said that the project is exciting, not only for the company but for the other casinos as well. The owner talked about Triple Crown and Bronco Billy’s casinos and said that they also have hotel plans. “We wanted to be the first to break ground!” he said.

“Everybody I bring up here says how beautiful it is. We need the rooms — needed to get the product up here to provide a three-to-four day experience,” said Canfora, who believes that there is more opportunity for growth in the city.

The US$14 million hotel is expected to open in Cripple Creek next year. The investment, which is expected to make the hotel more affordable for the average visitor, will feature 104 rooms, including suites and a rooftop patio.
