West Virginia casinos to offer mobile sports betting
As the gambling landscape continues to evolve in the state, local operators expect to launch mobile sports betting in the next few weeks.
US.- Sports betting got recently legalised in West Virginia and its implementation continues to develop, with casinos redesigning their operations to get involved in the market. However, one of the most awaited features in the segment continues to be mobile betting, wich could be launched in the next few weeks.
Erich Zimny, vice-president of racing and sports operations at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in Jefferson County confirmed that their operations, launched in August, could expand to mobile this month. “We expect to launch our mobile app, I don’t have a firm date. It’s not going to be next week, it’s not going to be three to four months from now; we hope to get it up and running in the next few weeks,” Legal Sports Report quoted.
The announcement clashes with recently rising trouble around the emergency rules on sports betting legislation, which are close to their expiration date and new regulations have operators worried about integrity fees. However, there are still no certainties around the segment yet, which has taken over €258k only in its first week of operations and has a bright future ahead.
