UK district to check gaming machines

A licensing team from Sedgemoor has teamed up with the UKGC to do checks ahead of a gambling crackdown.

UK.- The Sedgemoor District Council’s Licensing Team has revealed that it has partnered with the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) to start a programme of visits to facilities licensed for the sale of alcohol to monitor the use of gaming machines.

The officers are expected to check the machines and remind licence holders of their responsibility for the safe use of machines within their businesses, local media reported. Clubs, bars and pubs are included in the visits planned by the District Council and the UKGC.

The visits started in the Brean area on June 21st in order to make licence holders aware of the current regulatory requirements. Moreover, they also include awareness of the UK Gambling Commission’s code of practice regarding the use of gaming machines in premises where alcohol sale and supply is permitted.
