Sweden.- Sweden debuted its new regulated market on January 1, and companies have been experiencing a period of adaptation. However, Svenska Spel seems to have captivated the attention of players, as it was the top scorer in the country in the first two months of the year.

The company recorded revenues of €86.9 million during the first two months of 2018. It is estimated that the entire market has generated revenues of €330 million during this period. Former horse betting monopoly company ATG budgeted €67 million.

Among the private operators, Kindred Group generated €25 million, while Bet365 reported €12 million and LeoVegas totalled €10 million.

There are currently 115 licensees for the online market in Sweden: 62 of them are for the online casino sector. The other 44 licences are for sports bets. Analysts estimated that Sweden’s gaming market might be favorable to smaller companies given the 18% revenue deduction set in current regulations.
