Revenue from card room slightly up in PA
Figures released by the local gaming regulators indicate that poker revenue was slightly up year-over-year.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released the monthly numbers that indicate that poker revenue at Pennsylvania’s 10 poker rooms was US$4.5 million in September, a slight increase year-over-year when compared to the US$4.4 million registered in 2016.
However, poker rake fell month-over-month from the US$4.9 million reported in August, even though September is usually a slow month for poker operations. After the first five months of the year in which the rooms were pretty much flat, June and July started an upward trend with a 5.9 and 4.2 percent increase respectively and August managed to confirm the positiveness.
Table games generated US$75.6 million during September operations, a 9.9 percent increase from the same time in 2016. Total tax revenue from table games was US$12.1 million, as the local Gaming Control Board estimated from the 1252 tables in operation on a daily basis in the state. Moreover, gross gaming revenue (GGR) from the slot machines at the 12 state casinos increased 1.7 percent in September operations to US$195 million.
