Poker rooms in Pennsylvania report revenue fall
The 10 poker rooms located in Pennsylvania experienced a slight decrease in revenues in November.
US.- As the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) revealed through a release this week, poker rooms in the state totaled a combined US$4.8 million during November’s operations, which represent a slight decrease when compared to the same period in 2016.
The board said revenue was up month-over-month compared to the US$4.7 million totaled in October from the 230 poker tables all across Pennsylvania. However, the US$4.8 million was down 1.4 percent when compared to the same month in 2016, when US$4.87 million were raked in. Under the new gambling expansion signed by Governor Tom Wolf, Pennsylvania could offer online poker if it wants to and regulators approve it.
Moreover, the report published on the regulator’s website shows that last month’s gross table games revenue was US$72.2 million, up from the US$70.2 million registered in revenue by the state’s 12 casinos during November 2016. Total tax revenue from table games play during November was US$11.6 million with an average of 1257 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.
Slot machines at the 12 local casinos amounted US$181.3 million in revenue during November operations, which is a US$2 million increase when compared to the same period last year.
