Oregon lottery prepares mobile sports betting
The Oregon Lottery will launch mobile sports betting before the NFL season starts in September, officials advanced.
US.- Spokesperson Matthew Shelby told John Canzano that the Oregon Lottery plans to launch mobile sports betting soon. The official explained they want it ready by September when the American football season begins.
“We’re targeting NFL this year, launching our sports betting offering,” Shelby said. “We’re going to go mobile-first just because it’s faster and then follow up with a sports-betting kiosk… it’s going to be much more than that sports action we offered. We’re looking at a full sportsbook.”
“We are essentially purchasing an off-the-shelf sportsbook,” he added on mobile gaming. “We’re not building this from the ground up. It will look very similar to what the mobile betting sites are doing in New Jersey.”
When we look at sports betting we see an opportunity to raise additional revenue while bringing in new players.”
Shelby concluded: “We have a two-pronged mission — maximum profit commensurate with the public good.”
