Okada Manila continues to thrive

The Okada Manila has reported huge growth during March as GGR went up to €56.4 million, a 67.9% year-on-year improvement.

Philippines.- Universal Entertainment Corp has announced the Okada Manila continued to grow in March 2019. According to the operator, the casino’s preliminary numbers were a lot higher than a year before.

In March, the casino reached €56.4 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR). It meant a 67.9% growth from March 2018 and was also better than February’s €40.7 million.

The growth was “primarily due to a recovery in both domestic and international players following the Chinese New Year holidays”, the company said. “[It resulted] in increased volumes in VIP rolling, mass-table drop and gaming machine handle.”

February’s growth

Okada Manila reported GGR of €37.5 million in February, which represented a 73% increase when compared to the same period in 2018.

The figures unveiled by the company showed that accumulated GGR for the first two months of the year stood at €104 million. It was more than double when compared to the €50.2 million registered a year before. Moreover, GGR increased by 134% year-on-year to €64.2 million, a record high according to the company’s information.

“This was expected… and volumes in VIP rolling, mass table drop and gaming machine handle recovered for the latter half of the month,” said Universal Ent in a filing.
