Oaklawn Racing Casino launches vaccination incentives for staff

US.- Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort in Arkansas has announced that will give pay raises to employees who are vaccinated against Covid-19. The casino has announced that salaried employees will receive a 3 per cent pay raise if they get inoculated.

The casino is raising the minimum wage for vaccinated non-tipped employees to $16 an hour, and to $8.50 an hour for those who receive tips. Other resorts have launched programmes to encourage employees to get vaccinated.

In June, Hard Rock International and the Seminole Gaming tribe announced they were launching a prize draw.

Following the lotteries launched in several states, such as Ohio, California and Washington, the casino operators launched a programme offering prizes such as 2021 Jeep Cherokee, and cash rewards worth $10,000 and $5,000.

In June, MGM Resorts told unvaccinated employees in Las Vegas that they had to pay for Covid-19 tests. Staff were placed into four groups by name, with each to undergo testing on an assigned week.
