Unvaccinated MGM casino workers will have to pay for Covid-19 tests
MGM casino workers that are not vaccinated will be required to pay for Covid-19 tests.
US.- MGM Resorts has told unvaccinated employees in Las Vegas that they will have to pay for Covid-19 tests.
According to Brian Ahern, MGM’s director of media relations, MGM began a new testing policy as of July 26 for non-vaccinated employees in Las Vegas who are not working from home.
Staff have been placed into four groups by name, with each to undergo testing on an assigned week.
They have the option of paying $15 copay for onsite testing or opting to undergo a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on their own. With the latter, the individual must bring in the results during their testing week. Off-site test results can also be uploaded to the online employee portal My MGM.
Employees who test positive will be sent home and required to quarantine. Non-vaccinated workers who contract the coronavirus will not be paid for their mandatory time off, MGM said.
Employees who are vaccinated are required to upload proof of vaccination to the employee portal. Once confirmed by MGM corporate human resources, the team member is excluded from participating in the group testing program.
