NFL officials released the fixtures on Thursday, but with safety guidance for teams to socially distance due to the Covid-19 pandemic that remains a threat to much of the US.

The new NFL season will commence on Thursday, September 10, were defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs will host Houston Texans.

New Tampa Bay Buccaneers recruits Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski will begin their season against New Orleans Saints on September 13.

Other professional leagues like the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB) have yet to announce plans to return to action after postponing their seasons in March.

Earlier this week, the NFL announced that all international fixtures that were set to take place in London and Mexico City have been cancelled due to the pandemic.
