New Jersey continues to break iGaming records

The revenue record of the iGaming segment in New Jersey set in February was crushed by March’s performance.

US.- The iGaming segment posted revenue of US$25.6 million in March, crushing the previous record set in February (US$21.9 million). The figure posted was 17.6 per cent higher than the same month in 2017 and turned March into the 13th consecutive month that the market surpassed the US$20 million mark.

The market was led by online casino revenue, which rose 21.1 per cent year-on-year to US$23.6 million, while online poker fell 12.7 per cent to US$1.97 million. Operator-wise, Golden Nugget led the way again as it generated US$8.65 million in March, a 40 per cent year-on-year hike and a new record.

Next was the Borgata with US$4.6 million, Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey, with US$4.4 million, and Resorts Digital Gaming with US$4.2 million.

The iGaming segment continues to thrive and could even become more profitable should sports betting and daily fantasy sports get properly regulated in the US. The Supreme Court still has to rule on a potential dispute that could see the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) of 1992 revoked and the legalisation of sports betting nationwide.
