Five New Hampshire cities in favour of sports betting
Five cities in New Hampshire have approved sports betting locations in a vote that took place this week.
US.- The New Hampshire Lottery has revealed that five cities in the state have approved physical sportsbook retail locations. Berlin, Claremont, Laconia, Manchester and Somersworth were the cities in New Hampshire that approved the retail options.
The vote to approve sports betting in the state took place on November 5. The state lottery issued a sports betting request for proposals back in August and received 13 proposals in response. Overall, DraftKings is the operator that leads the proposals and is likely to be chosen this month.
The cities that didn’t approve sports betting were Concord, Dover, Nashua and Rochester. However, the last two approved keno.
The New Hampshire Lottery wants to have mobile sports betting up and running in the state by January 2020. Sportsbook locations would be available in New Hampshire by late winter or early spring 2020.
Last week, Maura McCann, marketing director at the New Hampshire Lottery said: “Sports betting represents a major next step in the New Hampshire Lottery’s evolution, and given its significance, we are happy with the overall quality of the proposals we received.”
“We look forward to continuing the RFP process and to ultimately implementing a sports betting system that supports continued revenue growth, while also incorporating all necessary safeguards and protections for our players and retailers.”
