Nevada could allow sports betting from other states

The NGCB is considering changing regulations to allow players from outside Nevada to bet on its licensed sportsbooks.

US.- As different states continue to legalise sports betting in the US, residents from those that don’t could soon bet on their favourite games anyway through Nevada’s sportsbooks. The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) is looking for ways to expand gambling and is considering altering its regulations in order to allow punters from outside the state borders to gamble on licensed sportsbooks.

Even though the commission has been supported by MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Wynn – who are behind the idea of getting mobile sports bets from punters outside Nevada – some operators are not so happy about the proposal.

“Generally, our members of our association are comfortable with the status quo in that, if you go through a marketing plan process, then you can sign people up for a wagering account on premises. So we are comfortable with that status quo,” Scott Nielson said on behalf of the Nevada Resort Association to news outlet Legal Sports Report.

It is still uncertain whether the initiative will succeed or not but the NGCB will continue to discuss the measure in order to make a decision.
