Montana endorses two sports betting bills

Both the House and Senate have endorsed sports betting bills in Montana to legalise the segment with different types of regulation.

US.- Montana continues to move towards sports betting legislation as the Legislature has endorsed two separate bills. Both the House and Senate voted to approve the segment, but through different rules to regulate it.

On Friday, the House of Representatives approved a piece of legislation with a 90-10 vote. Its version would give the Montana Lottery the power to control the sports betting industry in the state.

The Senate, on the other hand, endorsed a separate bill with a 33-16 vote. In this case, lawmakers intend to get the Department of Justice to oversee the segment in Montana.

Despite getting a first nod, each chamber still needs to set one final vote before sending it to the other one. After that, they’d go through additional hearings and potential amendments before they ultimately get sent to the governor’s desk.
