Mississippi sports betting handle up 156% in September
Casinos in Mississippi took in $54.8m in sports bets in September.
US.- After hitting an annual low in August, Mississippi’s sports betting handle reached $54.8m in September. That’s an increase of 155.8 per cent from August’s $21.4m and 5 per cent year-on-year.
This month-on-month increase was expected as the NFL season began along with college football betting. American Football generated $29.9m in wagers, baseball $8.7m and basketball $424,921. Other sports contributed wagers of $6.6m, while Sports Parlay Cards took in a further $9.2m.
September’s sports betting revenue was about $8.8m, up 368.9 per cent from August’s $1.9m and 34.1 per cent from the $6.6m in September 2020.
There was also good news for the state’s slot machines and table games handle. The slots drop was $2.15bn, up 7.7 per cent from August ($1.99bn) and the table games handle was $164.5m, up 8.9 per cent from August’s figure of $151m.
