Mississippi casinos report revenue rise

The facilities in the state experienced a strong October, but sports betting win was less than 1%.

US.- According to the latest report from the Mississippi Gaming Commission, October was a strong month for local casinos. Casino adjusted gross gaming revenue for October totalled US$167.2 million.

The commission’s new data shows that money bet and lost in the first ten months of the year increased 4% when compared to the same period last year. It is believed that from a gross revenue position 2018 will be one of the best for the state in a decade, even if October revenue was approximately US$10 million less than September’s.

Moreover, over US$22 million was placed in wagers on sporting events during October’s operations, and while the number is still good, casinos only won less than 1% of those bets. While facilities usually win between 4 to 5% of the wins, casinos only won approximately US$200k from October’s bets.
