MGM National Harbor unveils expansion
The Baltimore casino has opened a US$48 million expansion on Saturday, which includes a larger poker room.
US.- MGM National Harbor has become the largest casino in Maryland in a small period of time, and while its success has been consistent from its opening in December 2016, it doesn’t settle and keeps looking for new ways to improve. Now, the facility has unveiled a US$48 million expansion in response to strong demand.
The expansion includes 262 slot machines and a larger poker room, as well as off-track horse betting in partnership with the Maryland Jockey Club. Moreover, the second floor includes new dining and bar options.
Casino President and COO Melonie Johnson said that MGM managed to utilise the unused space for the expansion: “We thought ‘this is going really well, so let’s add space’. We never anticipated the volume we’d have at this property. That was the decision-maker to move poker to the second floor.”
