Merkur highlights PGS participation
The German brand was present at Peru Gaming Show and celebrated with the attendants the host’s participation at the FIFA World Cup.
Peru.- Amid the FIFA World Cup football fever, the 16th edition of the Peru Gaming Show had a party atmosphere like never before. At the show, Merkur Gaming played their part by hosting a football themed booth, displaying its top selling ‘made in Germany’ machines and over 100 individual games.
Merkur Gaming has made a name for itself in Peru, partly thanks to the team of promoters (embajadoras) who work alongside operators in each location to demonstrate games and run promotions for players. Their knowledge of the Merkur machines and games is second to none, something that was displayed ‘live’ on the Merkur booth at Peru Gaming Show.
The evening before the show, a customer reception was held at the upscale Lima 27 restaurant and around 80 guests were able to enjoy top class service of drinks, food and entertainment by a live DJ while mixing with the Merkur Gaming Peru team.
The football theme came to the fore right from the opening of the show, with the international members of the Merkur Gaming team showing their football allegiance by wearing the official shirts of their own national team. Peru, Germany, Colombia, Argentina and England were represented as well as members from Ecuador and Canada. Photo opportunities for stand visitors with the official FIFA World Cup Mascot, Zabivka the Wolf, were available and, as in recent years, the Merkur Beer Garden, featuring one of Lima’s top music presenters, DJ Maya, was once again the focal point of the entire show.
Highlighting the product and games presentation on the stand were the Peruvian operators’ favourite machine, the Avantgarde slant top and its latest evolution, the Avantgarde Trio slant top. Also creating significant interest was the Evostar upright that, together with the Avantgarde models, was displayed in the stylish and eye catching Black Series finish. With over 100 games available for play on the booth, Merkur Gaming was able to demonstrate its market pedigree and its ‘made in Germany’ innovation and manufacturing quality.
Alongside Merkur Gaming were other significant member companies of the Gauselmann Group, cash handling experts GeWeTe and, taking a keen interest in the future of the much discussed forthcoming legalization of iGaming in Peru, edict and Cashpoint, the iGaming specialists.
The show’s first day set new attendee records for the show itself and also the concurrently running conference sessions. Day 2 saw, sadly, Peru’s 36 year wait for a place in the world cup finals come to an end but Peru Gaming Show continued apace, right up to the show’s close.
Summing up, Tomas Mieles (LatAm sales director for Merkur Gaming) was enthusiastic and said: “This has been a great edition of Peru Gaming Show, particularly for Merkur Gaming. We have had more visitors than ever before, the reaction to our products and games has been excellent and the marketing team’s idea of giving the booth a football theme was exactly on point. I would like to congratulate the show organisers on a really excellent event and also thank our staff from Peru together with our international colleagues for the hard work and dedication they showed in demonstrating Merkur Gaming to be one of the top tier one companies currently working in the vibrant market that is gaming in Peru.”
