US.- The three casinos in Massachusetts set a new record for their handle and revenue in May.

According to figures from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the combined handle rose 2 per cent month-on-month to $709m. Revenue rose 2.4 per cent from April.

Encore Boston Harbor in Everett led the way, with revenue up 5.5 per cent month-on-month to $52.9m, the casino’s second-highest monthly revenue total since its founding in 2019.

MGM Springfield saw revenue from its slot and table games eclipse $21m for a third consecutive month, something not seen previously since March, April and May 2019.

Plainridge Park has seen gross revenue from its slot machines cross the $12m mark for three months running, which the casino hadn’t previously experienced since June through August 2019. Its May handle of $169.920m represented the facility’s highest single-month since June 2019.
