Louisiana casinos to add more machines
The four gaming venues in the state will soon be allowed to add more gambling machines under new regulations in the state.
US.- The four casinos that are about half the entire gaming segment in Louisiana will soon be allowed to operate more gambling machines. The state board aprproved a bill to add new gaming material to local venues, once a certain process is completed.
New regulations mean that casinos must clear different stages such as public comment, which must be completed before changes go into effect in a few months. According to local authorities, the measure has been passed to allow upgrades in recently built casinos.
“The purpose of the new law is to promote and encourage reinvestment in the existing properties,” board Chairman Ronnie Jones said after the Thursday morning hearing. Furthermore, he said that the four Las Vegas-style venues account for just over half of the US$151.4 million the state has raked in revenue from the 15 riverboat casinos in November.
