Louisiana casino win down 5.1 pct
The 20 gaming venues in the state posted a decline in winnings during October, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board revealed.
US.- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) revealed that casinos in the state recorded a decrease in winnings of 5.1% year-on-year during October. The regulator reported that the 20 gaming venues in Louisiana (15 riverboat casinos, 4 racinos and land-based Harrah’s casino) were down US$10 million from the same month last year as they brought in a total US$188 million last month.
According to the LGCB, October also saw a new gambling market drop in New Orleans as it went down 3.7% to US$46.6 million from US$48.4 million in 2017. While Harrah’s pulled 9.3% less than last year as it reached US$22.4 million, the region’s riverboat casinos saw revenue 1.6% higher than 2017’s and the Fair Ground racetrack was up as well with a 4.4% revenue increase to US$3.4 million.
In Baton Rouge, the three riverboat casinos saw a 17.6% revenue drop from October 2017 and continued a downward trend that started in August 2017. Casinos were also down by US$1 million as the Baton Rouge market collectively brought in US$18.5 million last month, down from US$22.5 million the previous year.
