Las Vegas Sands invests in Macau
The American gaming operator Las Vegas Sands is rebranding its Macau casino.
US.- Las Vegas Sands will further invest in its Asian gaming operations by redecorating its Macau casino, Sands Cotai Central. However, the revamp of the casino in order to turn into The Londoner Macao will “be phased” in order to avoid disruption for customers of the resort, as the company has officially revealed to the local press.
“The Londoner Macao will feature dynamic new attractions and features from London including some of London’s most recognisable landmarks, an expanded and reimagined retail mall and 350 luxurious new suites, the St. Regis Tower Suites,” said at the time Sheldon Adelson, chairman and chief executive of Las Vegas Sands.
And added: “Imagine the construction equipment, scaffolding and hundreds of workers on site from 8am to 8pm, all competing for space with customers entering the building. The outside issues are just the beginning. Re-theming the interior could be just as, if not more, disruptive to guests and players.”
Las Vegas Sands announced earlier this month that its major resort in Macau, Sands Cotai Central, will be rebranded as the Londoner Macao, as part of a US$1.1 billion investment that is set to be completed in the next three years.
Sheldon Adelson’s company said that Macau has a tremendous future ahead as a leisure and tourism destination. “We will invest over US$1.1 billion in new capital projects over the next three years in Macau, at Sands Cotai Central and the Four Seasons Hotel Macao,” said the owner during a report that unveiled the third quarter results of 2017.
