“It’s An Ohio Thing” comes ahead of the state’s sports betting launch in January 2023.

US.- Casino operator JACK Entertainment has released a television campaign in Ohio. “It’s An Ohio Thing” precedes the state’s sports betting launch in January 2023. The commercial features three local sports legends and gives the audience an inside look into the lives of local teams and Ohio residents.

The company said fans viewing the commercial will “recognize the red sweater and khaki pants of a former college football coach in Columbus; the quirky chicken flap batting stance of Cincinnati’s favorite second baseman; and the signature “Silencer” move of the G.O.A.T.  from Akron.”

JACK Entertainment launched its new free-to-play betJACK sports betting app in April. Created in partnership with Shape Games and Kambi Group, the app is available on Apple and Android. When legal sports betting is launched, the betJACK app will transition to JACK’s real-money betting platform.

Sports betting in Ohio will launch on January 1, 2023. State lawmakers passed House Bill 29 toward the end of 2021.

Ohio casinos and racinos take in $192m in October

Ohio’s casinos and racinos recorded $192m in gambling revenue in October, according to the Ohio Casino Control Commission. That’s up 1.8 per cent compared to September’s revenue of $188.6m but slightly down from the $192.7m reported in October 2021.

Ohio’s four casinos posted revenue of $83.1m, a $2.1m gain compared to 2021, and a $15m, gain compared to 2019, pre-pandemic. Hollywood Columbus placed first with $23.7m, followed by Jack Cleveland Casino with $21.2m. Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati reported $20m and Hollywood Toledo $18m.
