Indian state sets new gambling ban
The Nizamabad Police has banned gambling ahead of Diwali, India’s biggest and most important holiday.
India.- As India is getting closer to its biggest and most important holiday of the year, Diwali, the Nizamabad Police is trying to strengthen measures to ban gambling in the state, Armoor and Bodhan police sub-divisions of Police Commissionerate.
Swetha Reddy, in-charge Police Commissioner, has encouraged people from participating in different types of gambling and urged people to inform the police if they encounter anyone taking up gambling. She described that the cases will be taken seriously and that the police will open suspect sheet on them, but if anyone reports another person, the details will not be made public.
The Commissioner said that those special teams were born in order to conduct raids to check no illegal activities are being conducted in the area, as well as open sheets on people who get caught gambling. Moreover, the teams will conduct counseling to those gamblers who get reported.
