Japan.- The casino industry will soon land in Japan but where it will be developed is still unknown. That’s why the “First Hokkaido IR Showcase” will be held across November 30 – December 1, in order to gather all the parties involved in their development and assess the segment’s future.

Organisers have announced that the event will include the presence of all three mayors of the local municipalities that are set to push to get support of the prefectural government in making IR bids. In order to discuss IR development requirements, the showcase aims to bring into direct communication the local governments, business and tourist associations, international IR operators, and the general public.

The event will be the first in Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido but not in the country, as Osaka has already had its own version back in April. It will allow participating companies to discuss their experience and achievements, whihle tourist associations in the region will alo be able to promote their local areas.

The two-day showcase will be divided in a business-to-business activity day on November 30 and a public day on December 1.
