Hard Rock saves Spanish IR project

The Center for Recreation and Tourism (CRT) seemed to be dead due to a lack of suitors but Hard Rock has bid for the license.

Spain.- Uncertainty surrounding the future of the Center for Recreation and Tourism (CRT), formerly known as BCN World, turned into surprise after Hard Rock International bid for the license and is set to get it as the lone suitor for the Catalonia project.

The company seemed to be out of the race after Melco walked out from the tandem bid after winning the Cyprus license but it finally stayed and will bet for the Spanish project.

According to government officials, Hard Rock is the lone survivor of a race that included Melco and Spanish Grup Peralada (financed by Malaysian operator Genting), but both backed out. Hard Rock seemed to be withdrawing as well, but, after selling its stake at Cyprus to Melco, it ended up as the savior of the CRT project.

Next july 10th the company will introduce the construction plans for the development and for the 30k square meters dedicated to casinos. According to Spanish media outled eldiario.es, Catalonia’s government said the company will file several documents with details about the development of the project.
