The British responsible gambling charity has announced new promotions as it expands its team.

UK.- The charity GamCare has announced two promotions to expand its executive leadership team. It said the appointments will allow it to improve the management of its problem gambling treatment support network and cooperation with other stakeholders.

Rachel (Ray) Hassan has been appointed to the position of director of quality and innovation. She will be responsible for ensuring that GamCare’s national programmes in the UK achieve their strategic objectives. Hassan previously worked as a member of GamCare’s senior management team, where she worked on the charity’s quality management framework.

Meanwhile, Fiona MacLeod has been promoted to become clinical and communities director. MacLeod has led GamCare’s digital services and its national helpline. She will now be in charge of commissioning treatment support programmes and coordinating specialised local outreach.

GamCare CEO Anna Hemmings said: “I’m delighted with Ray and Fiona’s appointments, they have been instrumental in transforming our work, ensuring GamCare is the leading provider of information and support for those affected by gambling harms.

“Their passion and drive have delivered significant improvements and have been instrumental in our recent successes. I am looking forward to their continued work within GamCare, our Partner Network and wider stakeholders to create further opportunities for innovation and impact.”

GamCare is piloting a programme to refer UK gamblers with risks of mounting debts to an advice service offered by PayPlan. Meanwhile, three responsible gambling charities GamCare, Gamban and GAMSTOP announced that their joint TalkBanStop campaign launched in March has already had a positive effect.
