East Chicago casino to begin renovations

The Ameristar Casino is set to begin a top-to-bottom renovation to improve player experience today.

US.- The Ameristar Casino in East Chicago, Indiana, is expected to begin its renovations of the four-level gaming boat today. The casino will remain open during the process that intends to improve player experience with new equipment and interiors.

The US$15 million project is expected to be completed in different stages over the next five months. Ameristar General Manager Matt Schuffert, said: “The scope is pretty much almost everything there is on a casino floor from a gaming equipment perspective; new gaming chairs; carpets; ceilings; lighting; wall coverings; new furniture, fixtures and equipment; amenity upgrades; surveillance upgrades; and we’re adding a restroom to our fourth level and all of our restrooms will be remodelled.”

The renovation plan, presented last week to the Indiana Gaming Commission, showed that rotating areas of the vessel will be closed to the public for two to four weeks, the completion target being October 5th.

The main table game area is due to be upgraded between July 16th and August 3rd. “Because this section has a pretty large majority of the table games we offer, we felt it was important when we were renovating this section to really still have that offering somewhere on property that those guests can come experience that,” said Shuffert.
