Canada reinaugurates a casino
The Starlight Casino in West Edmonton Mall, Canada, was reinaugurated.
Canada.- Operators of Starlight Casino announced the reinauguration of the facility in Canada. According to the company’s statement, the new salon was boosted with a $57-million renovation that saw the casino’s footprint grow to 15,000 square meters from the 9,300-square-metre footprint of the Palace Casino it is replacing.
“The long-range goal is to get people in who have never tried table games and make it really, really fun,” said Starlight Casino general manager Kevin Booth, during an exclusive tour with Postmedia last Friday.
“The whole concept is to get new people involved, especially the millennials and younger generation,” said Booth. “Games like blackjack and baccarat have been around for a long time, but what this does is put together entertainment and an atmosphere to it. When it gets busy, and a little louder and the DJ is there, it’s going to be a totally different concept that no one else has.”
The casino is operated by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, which has unveiled its Canadian investment last Wednesday. The initial project consisted of a US$57 million construction, and with the new addition Gateway has invested more than US$90 million in the local economy and has created over 550 new jobs.
