Viejas Casinos and Resort has followed the move introduced by tribal casino Morongo.

US.- Viejas Casino and Resort in Alpine, California, has announced it will introduce a cashless payment system. The new option will be installed through a partnership with Crane Payment Innovations (CPI).

Players will be able to use mobile payment methods on the slot floor through CPI’s Advance banknote validators and Easitrax Connect software.

Erich Hans, CFO at Viejas, said: “By allowing our players to bypass traditional funding sources, such as ATMs and/or the cage, we have significantly improved options and convenience.”

The move comes after tribal casino Morongo announced its plans to implement cashless gaming for slots and video poker machines through a partnership with casino solutions company Marker Trax last year.

Morongo Casino Resort and Spa was the first tribal casino and first Californian gaming property to introduce cashless wagering.

Instead of collecting physical cash from a casino marker, guests can enrol in a PIN-protected SYNKROS cashless wagering account, using the Marker Tax credit line to play electronically.

The system used at the Morongo Casino allows bettors to register for their digital marker and begin cashless gaming in under five minutes.
