“We believe it is important to take part in FADJA Colombia”

(Exclusive interview).- Gabriele De Lorenzi, Director of WorldMatch, talked with Focus Gaming before this year’s edition of FADJA Colombia.

FADJA Colombia is only a few days away: taking place on April 10-11 in Bogotá, the show is one of the most important in the Latin American region, which has been in constant growth in the last few years.

WorldMatch will once again be part of this event in Colombia. Gabriele Delorenzi, Director at WorldMatch, talked with Focus Gaming News ahead of the show and discussed the benefits that it brings for the company, as well as some goals for 2019.

Last year you announced the integration of your live platform onto local operator Wplay.co. After more than a year of operating in Colombia, what benefits has the company perceived so far, economically speaking?

Wplay.co has been the first operator to have a licence from COLJUEGOS to operate in the Colombian regulated market, it has been a very important experience from many point of view which also gave us recognition in the country. The market is evolving in a positive way day by day, becoming an example for many other countries within the region.

WorldMatch has recently participated in local events, not only in FADJA but also Gol Expo Colombia. How do events like these help you spread your presence in the industry? Are you expecting to set new partnerships at the 2019 edition of FADJA?

We have decided to participate in many events in LatAm (but not only), participating in local events gives us the opportunity to get directly in touch with local operators, get to better know their needs and share with them our 20 years experience in the online casino business. We think it is important to work in this direction in order to consolidate our brand. Concerning the upcoming FADJA exposition, we believe it is important to take part in it because it gives us a good chance to get in touch face to face with our customers and hopefully to meet some new ones.

The [Colombian] market is evolving in a positive way day by day, becoming an example for many other countries within the region.

FADJA is a good opportunity not only to discuss business opportunities with Colombian operators but also from all over Latin America. While the brand has established itself as a referent in the region, which market are you currently targeting this year?

It looks like in Latin America things are moving on towards regulated markets, participating in FADJA in April will help us to have a better understanding of what is going on and to reach operators from nearby countries. Besides our activities in LatAm, we want to boost our presence in Europe, that’s why we are about to accomplish the UKGC certification and we are already working in order to get our games compliant for SRIJ.

Working along with local operators is sometimes one of the best options for companies to settle themselves in new markets. Are you considering meeting with operators from other countries in Latin America to set new partnerships in order to be ready once they fully legalise and regulate their online segments?

Worldmatch has always been very much interested in regulated markets, therefore all those markets are a potential target for us. We have high expectations in this region, we know by experience that our games are performing very well and they meet the tastes of the players. Worldmatch is ready to satisfy the operators’ needs and help them step up their businesses.

We are about to accomplish the UKGC certification and we are already working in order to get our games compliant for SRIJ.

What can we expect from WorldMatch’s booth at FADJA 2019? What will be the biggest difference from your offering in last year’s event?

Last year we attended FADJA with a portfolio of 50 games all in HTML5, this year we will double our offering by presenting 100 games in HTML5 all certified and compliant with COLJUEGOS, we have also added to our portfolio table games like Roulette and Blackjack; players will love them.
