Saratoga purchase of Wildwood Casino cancelled
Deal has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
US.- Saratoga Harness Racing’s planned purchase of Wildwood Casino in Colorado from the American Gaming Group (AGG) has been cancelled.
The sale of the Cripple Creek venue was initially agreed on March 11, but both parties have cited the economic impact of Covid-19 for the deal’s cancellation.
In a press release, Wildwood Casino owner, Joe Canfora, said: “At this time, we believe it’s in the best interest of both companies, and our respective casinos, to cancel the deal so we can focus on doing what’s best for our casinos and our players.
“At Wildwood, we’re taking this time to develop and implement an entire health and safety strategy that goes above and beyond state and local guidelines to better protect our players and provide a comfortable, safe environment for gaming.”
Earlier this year, Wildwood signed an agreement with ISI Race & Sports to expand into the newly-legal sports betting market in Colorado.
