Washington D.C. sports betting handle hits new record in October
The handle for the month was $26.3m, up 27.2 per cent from September’s $20.7m.
US.- Washington D.C. is one of the earliest jurisdictions to report October sports betting figures. The state had a record sports betting handle of $26.3m last month, up 27.2 per cent from September ($20.7m).
BetMGM entered the D.C. market as the other non-Gambet operator in June, joining Caesars Sportsbook. With Caesars Sportsbook both totaled $17m of the handle. DC Lottery’s Gambet talled $3.7m in bets.
October’s online sports betting gross gaming revenue (non-Gambet) was $938,088, down 71.5 per cent from September’s $3.3m. Revenue from Gambet was $632,572, up 6.1 per cent from September’s $595,995.
In taxes, the sports betting revenue from non-Gambet operators was $96,901, a decrease of 70.5% from September’s $328,768. When combining the revenue of Gambet and non-Gambet operators, the total reaches $1,570,660.
