Twin River Casino expansion starts in Rhode Island
The $100m project will add 40,000 square feet to the gaming floor.
US.- Bally’s Corporation has broken ground on the $100m expansion of Twin River Casino Hotel in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The expansion will add 40,000 square feet to the gaming floor, a 10,000-square-foot spa and a restaurant.
During the official ceremony, Paul Juliano, vice president of operations for Bally’s Corporation, was joined by Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee, Speaker of the House Joseph Shekarchi, Senate President Dominick Ruggerio, AFL-CIO President George Nee, and Philip Gould, recently elected town administrator for Lincoln.
Bally’s announced that it has officially renamed both Rhode Island casinos. The new names are Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort and Bally’s Tiverton Casino & Hotel.
Paul Juliano, vice president of operations for the Bally’s Corporation said: “Today’s ceremony marks the beginning of our $100m investment in the State of Rhode Island and we are thrilled to break ground on a project that will involve approximately 20 construction trades over the course of the next 12 -14 months.”
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee added: “I appreciate the commitment by Bally’s to continue to invest in the future of Rhode Island.
“While we are encouraged by our state’s strong emergence from the pandemic, we must continue to be vigilant about the vibrancy of our economy and today’s launch of a $100m investment in the state is notable.”
Michael Sabitoni, president of the Rhode Island Building & Construction Trades Council added: “We celebrate the fact that over 20 unions and hundreds of union members will have a hand in expanding, modernizing and operating.”
