“Casino operators will have an online business and hybrid systems”
(Exclusive interview).- Focus Gaming News speaks to Renato Almeida, Director at FBM.
As casinos adjust to operations post-lockdown, Focus Gaming News caught up with Renato Almeida, Director of international gaming provider FBM to ask how the company and clients have adapted to the new reality.
Mr Almeida says FBM has adjusted well to remote working and has a lot of investment plans for the short-term future, while it also looks forward to rolling out its new Spin Reel multigaming machine.
“The situation has forced online gaming to grow a lot so we’re investing a lot in online gaming,” Mr Almeida said, adding that he believes most land-based operators will now look to have an online business and hybrid systems
“In Mexico we’re already testing our new multigaming for Spin Reel. We have the new machine ready to go,” he said, adding that multigaming will make a big difference to the provider’s product.
“In Mexico clients are starting to come back slowly.”

In Mexico, where the company has a strong presence, he says players are gradually starting to return and casinos were now running at around 50 per cent normal revenue.
“We’re going to have locations that open and close again. We have to live with this until we have a vaccine.”

He emphasised the importance of showing players that venues were safe to return to, and adapting to a situation that looks likely to be in continual flux.
“Casinos are keeping distance between players to make it safe,” he said.
