Joe Lupo to become the president of the Casino Association of New Jersey
Joe Lupo, the president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City has been appointed president of the Casino Association of New Jersey.
US.- Following the unexpected departure of Terry Glebocki last month, the Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) had to name a new chairman and Joe Lupo, the president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City was the chosen one.
“I am prepared to lead the CANJ forward as we work to reinvigorate Atlantic City. Our industry is invested in this community, and we believe with continued hard work and determination, Atlantic City’s best days lie ahead,” said Lupo in a statement.
The CANJ, which comprises all nine of Atlantic City’s casino operators, decided in a meeting yesterday that Lupo had to replace Glebocki. One of the primary focuses of the CANJ is to restore Atlantic City and the Boardwalk back to their former glory, an uphill challenge that has to overcome Covid-19, prior city mismanagement and a decline in traffic that has endured for several years.
CANJ advocates for the Atlantic City casino industry by supporting legislation and initiatives that advance the ongoing revitalization of Atlantic City into a world-class destination resort, according to the group.
Lupo has 35 years of experience in the gaming industry, and has served as president of Hard Rock Atlantic City since 2018. He joined Hard Rock International in 2016 and previously served as president of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Florida. Lupo spent more than three decades with Boyd Gaming, where he served as a senior executive at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa for 13 years, helping launch the casino when it opened in 2003.
