Atlantic City revenue up 31% against August 2020
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has released its monthly report.
United States.- While Atlantic City revenue hasn’t yet reached pre-pandemic figures, the numbers are bouncing back. Atlantic City casino land-based revenues were up 31 per cent year-on-year in August, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
The nine casinos and three horse tracks that offer sports betting took $427.6m in August, compared with $326.3m in August 2020, the first full month of restored casino operations after the Covid-19 shutdown.
In-person gambling revenue was $262.4m, internet gambling revenue was $113.2m and sports betting revenue was $52m.
It’s certainly a recovery for land-based gaming in New Jersey, but the total win remained down 5.3 per cent from July and an 8.4 per cent from August 2019.
