Thailand could introduce online lottery
Lottery vendors would also have legal licenses to operate freely in the Asian country.
Thailand.- The regional government will present in September the first Online Lottery bill to legislate the sector and install the licenses system in the Asian country. The legal project has been written by the Council of the State and the Finance Ministry.
The gambling bill would introduce online lottery to the country as well as licenses to lottery vendors. It also would name the Government Lottery Office –GLO– as the official entity to regulate and control the business. The game will be able only for players who are over 20 years and tickets will be banned from schools. As the government published, if vendors violated the conditions, they would face jail sentences and the payment of fines.
The new lottery for the Thai territory would be added to the traditional lottery tickets. Players would have the option to bet within online websites through vending machines or convenience stores. The Government Lottery Office would be required to send to the state coffers 23 percent of its revenue, to allocate 60 percent of the revenue as prize monies and the rest as management fees for the GLO.
