Tabcorp secured racing broadcasting rights
The Australian gaming operator renewed its partnership and secured racing rights for another five years.
Australia.- Australian gaming operator Tabcorp secured its WA racing rights by renewing its partnership with Racing and Wagering Western Australia. By signing this deal, Tabcorp is giving its Sky Racing subsidiary the broadcast rights for racing in the state.
The deal gives five years of rights to Sky Racing, the national, digital and international rights for racing outside of Perth and all harness and greyhound racing across Western Australia. Tabcorp is also in talks with racing authorities in South Australia and New Zealand to obtain and extend deals.
These extensions costed approximately US$26 million for six years of WA rights, ten times more expensive than it was previously paying annually. Tabcorprecently announced that they will launch a digital ad campaign that will run through the racing carnival until the Melbourne Cup on November 1.
David Attenborough, Tabcorp chief executive, said: “The campaigns will celebrate the heroes of the industry, the wider community that benefits from that funding and we think it is right to inform the public how important the TAB is to the health of racing.”
