Sky Racing expands to Argentina

The horse-racing content distributor arrived to Latin America last year signing an agreement with Brazilian tracks and operator Brazil-facing ADW Suaposta.

Argentina.- There are good news for horse-racing fans. Bettors from the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa can participate from now on in operations held in the Argentinian Hipodromo de Palermo, oldest and most prestigious track in the country. Sky Racing World and the horse-racing centre signed a deal to distribute all races simulcast internationally to advanced deposit wagering –ADW– brands, racetracks and off-track betting outlets –OTBs–. First events that will be broadcasting will be Gran Premio Republica Argentina –in May–, Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos y Potrancas –in September– and Gran Premio Nacional –in November–.

“The races at the Palermo track in Buenos Aires are among the highest quality in all of South America, a region where horse-racing is growing in popularity. We’re excited to partner with Palermo to bring these top-tier races to our core market of North America, whose time zones complement the Buenos Aires racing schedule, as well as the core Australasian markets of our parent company Tabcorp,” expressed Sky Racing’s CEO and president, David Haslett. Global customers will be able to enjoy more than 120 thoroughbred and flat-racing events per year.

Premier Gateway International –PGI–, joint venture between Tabcorp and Phumelela headquartered in the Isle of Man, will host the horse-racings in the 2,400-meter all-weather racetrack. In North America and the Caribbean, the events will be distributed to major ADWs and it will also cover North American racetracks and OTBs. The content services will reach the Southern Hampshire’s markets as well and those latest sectors will apply the deal since April 2016. As to Australia, Tabcorp will be in charge of the live transmissions whilst the same events will be available later in the Sky Racing’s broadcasting platform. Finally, New Zealand will be provided by Tabcorp’s partner, New Zealand Racing Board.
