Niklas Jönsson has been selected as the Stockholm-based sports betting and fantasy sports provider’s chief financial officer.

Sweden.- The sports betting and fantasy sports provider Scout Gaming has named Niklas Jönsson as its new chief financial officer as of January 10.

Jönsson succeeds Billy Degerfeldt, whose departure was confirmed last month. He moves to the same position at an undisclosed business.

Jönsson has significant experience in gaming, having served as CFO at Global Gaming Group in Malmo for two and a half years until March 2021.

Before that, he spent more than three years with Evolution Gaming, first as group financial manager and then as CFO in Malta. He previously worked as an accountant with PwC for a decade.

He said: “It will be fun to utilise my existing knowledge from the sector, even though Scout is completely unique in terms of its product offering, and I am convinced that I will be able to contribute from day one.”

Scout chief executive Andreas Ternström added: “It feels very good to be able to present Niklas, who has many years of experience in the industry and knows what it takes to accelerate growth.”

Last month, Scout reported quarterly revenue was down by 19 per cent year-on-year between July and September, but Ternström said the company had worked intensively to launch our tier-one clients that will “generate growth during the 2022 and beyond.”

Earlier this month, it launched Fanteam in the US.
